Observing the population growth of the various parakeets taking place along Pasir Ris, it is nice to see the rose ring-necked parakeet among the many other parakeets that can spotted at Pasir Ris Park. With your naked eye it can be hard to distinguished, but will a zoom camera or binoculars you can look for the distinct blue/ black line around its neck.
Male rose-ringed parakeet has a pink line with also blue /black line across back of neck while the Female rose-ringed parakeets lacks the pink line. It's all-green plumage and its upper bill red with black tip helps to separate this species from Red-breasted and Long-tailed Parakeet.
