Wild Boar at Pulau Ubin

While exploring Pulau Ubin, you do sometimes catch sight of wild boars. With the exception of the wild boars at the Chek Jawa visitor center area, encounters with wild boars are usually short before the skirt away into the jungle. To my surprise this particular juvenile wild boar (note the faint black stripes on its body) seems oblivious to me taking photos and a video of it and it was moving about on the tar road without a worry in the world.

Cautionary note: Always remain alert when you encounter wild boars, especially if they have their young or baby wild boars. They may see you as a treat and charge at you. Next important thing, do not feed the wild boars. Not only it is illegal but it creates a situation of change behaviour where they get too much accustomed to human food. There are already abundance of food for them and with almost not predators, their population will grow to an unsustainable level eventually if not already so. In huge packs, they do damage to crops and also native plants.
